The Deep Oldies staff wishes our wonderful leader Andy Olson a Happy 65th Birthday. We had an absolute blast at his brithday bash weekend up in Globe, AZ which of course is home to the Radio Free Phoenix and Deep Oldies studios.
Andy started Radio Free Phoenix over 18 years ago in August of 2004 and a few years later added Deep Oldies. What a perfect music combination!

Blow the horns and launch the fireworks, just before the clock struck 12 Andy and Charmi agreed to terms to return her to Deep Oldies. Starting Monday Aug 1st, 2022 she will be hosting a show from 12noon to 3pm AZ Mountain Time Monday thru Friday. We are so happy to have her back. Please join us all in the celebration..and it just keeps getting better!

Chris Herrick will be returning to the Deep Oldies airwaves on Monday Aug 1st, 2022 after an extended vacation. We have been informed that he did not catch a whale in Lake Michigan with his new peanut butter and jelly bait. Better luck next year Chris. As excited as we are to have Chris back in his regular Monday to Friday 7-10pm time slot, this means Charmi O’Connor , who has been filling in for Chris, will be going back into retirement. Charmi it has been an absolute pleasure to hear your lovely voice back on the Deep Oldies airwaves the last several weeks. Please rejoin us again in the future, the staff and the listeners miss you already. Charmi’s final show will be Friday July 29th, 2022.

Mariah Fleming has requested and been granted a sabbatical from Deep Oldies so she can focus on her collection of Wish Nicks. She has gotten into a contest with her rival from RFP, Lenise Plezia, over who has the largest and cutest Wish Nick. Hopefully she will be able to return to our airstaff in the future. Good Luck Mariah.
Rumors abound that the surgery was successful and Chris Herrick is in rare form. After extensive negotiations with RFP-DO Enterprises upper management an agreement has been reached. Announcement is expect tomorrow (9/7/17). According to sources (Russian Hackers) the details are the standard $0 per month however Chris will get all the free pop cycles he wants.

Harold, Caveman’s sidekick, recently made a trip to Laughlin, NV and hit a $100 jackpot on a video poker machine. For someone who counts out pennies to buy a Snickers Bar…this is a major win.
The Deep Oldies staff wold like to thank who ever the prankster was the left the baby alligator in the studio pond after the “Monthly Staff Meeting and Luncheon”. The baby gator which we fondly named “Chompers” has been captured and turned over to the Wild Life Zoo on the west side where he will able to live and long and happy life. Side note, has anyone seen the studio dog????
Rumor has it that Chris “I am not a fish” Herrick is in negotiation with Andy about doing a week night show 3 days a week…the sticking point of course is “salary”. Chris is demanding “$0.00/ hour” and Andy is offering “$0.00 / week”. They still seem to be a long ways apart. More news to follow as this progresses.
Jimmy “Hot Rod” Phord found himself in the “Hot Seat” once again on 4th of July weekend. No he wasn’t stealing John Deere’s after too much Ram Sauce this time. Apparently Jimmy’s little farm might be growing something more then corn and barley. Jimmy was overheard telling investigating officers “I have no idea how that got into my fields”. When being taken away Jimmy could be heard yelling “Another Gringo Goin’ Down” and “Cracker’s Live Matter”. More to follow.
It is with a heavy heart but with piles of gratitude that we say good-bye to Charmi O’Connor on June 16th, 2017. Charmi has CHARMED us with her unique voice and soft style when she was a member of the Deep Oldies & Radio Free Phoenix air staff. She has been the caretaker of not only this page, but also insuring the smooth operation of our broadcast and maintaining our Deep Oldies Facebook page plus she had worked on Radio Free Phoenix and in the background of both stations for many years. How do you truly thank someone for all the efforts and occasional sleepless nights insuring our music has continued to stream….

After several years of of bringing his unique and slightly demented style to the mornings on our sister station “Radio Free Phoenix”, Gary decided to re-join the Deep Oldies air staff. Starting back on Feb 6th, 2017 Gary brought “Morning Madness” to weekdays from 8am to 10am AZ Mtn time. Rumor has it that several of his old friends from the early days of Deep Oldies will be making cameo appearances on his show.
