“Here’s What Our Listeners Have To Say”
For years now, I’ve lamented the downfall of AM and FM radio. 50’s music disappeared from the airwaves ten or fifteen years ago, and now it looks like 60’s music is doing the same. So imagine my happy surprise when I started 2013 by discovering Deep Oldies! I have around sixteen thousand songs in my ITunes library, mostly from the 50’s and 60’s. These are my alltime favorite decades for music. But I’ve only been listening to your station for an hour, and I’ve already heard two or three songs I’ve never heard before! Needless to say, I love the mix of music, and I like that there’s an actual person playing it! I didn’t realize how much i’d missed the “human” aspect of deejays until I started listening to this station.
If I could have created my own oldies station, this would be it! Now, if the station puts on a “top 1000” oldies countdown for Memorial Day or july Fourth, it will make my life! 🙂
Thank you for a phenomenal listening experience!

Hi, Davie from Hamilton, Scotland, it’s 3:15pm here, been lisnin’ for hours , luvvin’ it , took yesterday off, just to hear you, from my early hours, I usually get up for work at 4:30am, stunning selection of music, some before my time, some I haven’t heard for years, and some I’d forgotten all about, and stuff we just don’t hear on our stations over hear, good work keep it up.

Love the station. Am going back to the page to donate now.thanks,

You guys should try this. On my iPod I have a category I call “The Original & the Cover” What it is, is I’ll play the original version of a song and then the cover version. I had a friend who thought that the Bay City Rollers version (Ha) of “I only want to be with you” was the original version of that song and then I played the Dusty Springfield version of the same song and it blew her away. Educating your listeners is a good thing. Thanks for the heads up I’ll be listening for GMMSOY during your 1:00 p.m. broadcast. It’s nice to have you people there. Keep up the good work!

I’ve already made one contribution and will continue to do so in the future. It’s wonderful to hear tunes I’ve not heard in 40 years instead of lots of them that I haven’t heard in 40 minutes! How about some Arbors in your playlist? Specifically, “The Letter”, a great groovy psych interpretation of the Box Tops hit song. Also… some tunes by The Merry Go Round, which was Emitt Rhodes group.
Thanks!

How about Harvest Moon by Neil Young, and Don’t Stand So Close To Me by the Police? I have heard so many songs that I haven’t heard in years and also quite a few I have never heard before. Now this will probably stump you.The Animals had an album come out late 60’s maybe early 70’s don’t remember the album name but there was a version of John Lee Hookers Maude and also Gin House Blues, any idea if they have been redone digitally and also if I didn’t stump you could you play those two songs? I have the album and not sure where I got it probably in a box of records I found at a flea market or garage sale. It is in pretty rough shape. It did not have the cover just the album. Thanks and keep up the good music, Jake

I am the station manager of a West Virginia high school radio station that specializes in oldies during each weekday. I discovered your station on ‘radiodiscussions.com,’ and am absolutely loving it! So many ‘oh wow’ songs! Please keep doing what you do so well!
I’ve only read the first half dozen commentsand fully go along with the positive reaction. . I’ve been listening every day for about a week, sometimes for severaol hours and have never used the shazam app so much! The problem is that I switched on about 14.00 GMT and the audio was cutting out every few seconds, a fairly common internet radio problem. Hopefully it’ll bsorted out pretty soon.
I didn’t include name and area yesterday. It’s Ian Godfrey from SW London. The time now is nearly 22.000 GMT and the problem is still there, very slow loadup and cutting out after a few seconds.
relieved to discover Deep Oldies back to normal about09.00 GMT today – Ian Godfrey Sw London 19.50 Gmt
Excellent. Fantastic music. So many great memories. Thank you for schooling me with your musical knowledge.
Fantastic. I have learned so many great songs. Thanks for the musical knowledge you share.
Love linking up to the oldies. WAYYYYYY better than the local (Portland & Seattle) oldies and Classic Rock stations!
Great stuff! Lovin’ it!
I’ve been streaming your station on my I-phone for nearly three years. I love to listen while I’m at work. Seddenly and unexpectedly strting February 10th 2016 all I get is dead air when I tune in. I received your station threw Tune In Radio. Any suggestions at what might be the problem and the solution. Deep Oldies has had a great stream the whole time I’ve been listening and this was very surprising. Thank You and I hope I can get your wonderful station back again.
Play that golden 1970s music! Do you list the daily playlists anywhere?
I need to hear
Mark Lindsay – Arizona
The Jaggerz – The Rapper
The Buoys – Timothy
The Guess Who – Clap for the Wolfman
I’ve had the same problem when I listen from a Tune-In Radio app. I can still get it by using Nordex Radio app. My problem with Tune-In started around the same time as yours.
We are limited to what we can post by our licensing agreements. We do offer a “Now Playing” link on our webpage which shows what’s currently playing and the previous 20 songs I believe. Go to menu at the top of this screen (or any page on our website) and click the “Now Playing” item. That will take you there.

I’m connecting to server via Tune-In, but no audio. I hope it’s not due to lack of cash… if so, I guess I failed to donate often enough.

Lee,
thanks for listening and the support. The are no plans to go subscription. not sure why you had no audio. Checkout our new website we added an embedded player in the webpage and also added a link to go thru StreamLicense website. Hope that solves your problem
Besides any reception problems I’ve had, I love your station’s format. I hear great songs by artists I like that I’ve never heard before. And I thought I’d heard it all! Keep up the great work.
Steve,
Thank you for your support, thats why we call ourselves “Deep Oldies”. 🙂 keep rockin, hoppin and beboppin
I have discovered this fabulous radio not long ago, and to be honest, it’s now my favourite ! It’s good to know that the music of the 50’s and 60’s still lives !
I wish you the best for the future of the radio !
With love from France, Marion.
Marion,
We love our European listeners, you are the best. Thanks for tuning in and the support. It’s my favorite station as well.
Absolutely wonderful. Your choice of music beats the other “oldies” stations hands down. The only thing that bugs me is the obnoxious segues between songs. Your music is good enough that every song deserves to be completed, with a second for the listener to say, “That was great. I haven’t heard that in years.” The segues are like nails on a blackboard to me. Sorry for being a bit anal. You’re still the best.
Ed,
Thanks for the kind words and support. We try very hard to be “The Best”, it is our goal. Question, was there a particular song you felt we cut off or is it the crossd fade in general you dont like? curious.
The Caveman, Gary
I’ve been a fan of Deep Oldies for a few years. I enjoy hearing the “marginal” oldies that too many oldies stations overlook as well as hearing some great songs that I missed. The variety is fantastic.
But I find that I don’t listen as often anymore for the same criticism Ed made May 27: the segues cut off TOO MUCH. Example from today (June 12) a good chunk of the ending of Sinatra’s “My Way.” During today’s listening, I’d say almost half the songs suffered from the overzealous seguing, especially those with cold endings.
Otherwise, it’s a perfect stream to add some music to my day!
As mentioned in the previous comment, we are always reviewing issues that may exist within our system, thanks for the feedback and for being a dedicated listener. Because of the additional level of complications by being an online streaming station we sometimes have to resolves issues on a song by song basis, we will address this.
The Caveman
Hi Folks
Great Job all around. This is a request…a big one but worth it. Your channel plays so many non hit (a good thing) songs, there are many times I would love to know what band/song/artist I am listening to. If you could include titles/artist on the screen as songs change it wound strengthen the experience for all im sure.

Here in Detroit we don’t have an oldies channel anymore! It switched formats like 10 years ago, and no longer plays 50s or 60s.. I was heartbroken.. I can sometimes get an Oldies channel from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, but it doesn’t come in that well, and Canada has a law that you have to play so many Canadian artists every hour.. Long story short, I’m loving the deep cuts! Keep ’em coming!
thanks for being a listener, we’ll keep the deep cuts coming for all our Canadian friends….

I miss Charmie! Love your station!
What happened to Charmie?
Charmi decided to retire to spend more time with her family….we all miss her as well….

Hey, thank you for asking about me. I couldn’t stay away any longer and returned to Deep Oldies… am on noon to 3 p.m. weekdays Arizona time. I appreciate your kind words, Jeff!! 🙂 🙂

Wanna say Hi from distant Kazakhstan. 24 years old Eugene here. In love with what you’re doing here. Keep on keeping on!!!
Love the station, except for the station promo’s. Especially the heavy one that goes on what seems forever. I do like the wide spectrum playlist.
Generally great job. You just played “Hippy Hippy Shake”, by the Swingin’ Blue Jeans. Either you played their re-record on purpose You should check that: it wasn’t the original.
Charmy!! So happy to hear you again!
Oh how I’ve missed you! Big giant welcome back Doll!! Jeff outside of Chicago

So glad to know you’re still with us, Jeff. Thank you for your most kind words. Rock and roll rules!! 🙂 🙂
